ACND’s “Magnificent Seven” Shine for Nationals
Archbishop Curley Notre Dame drew a lucky seven at the Catholic Forensic League Grand Finals this past weekend. While competing against schools three times its size, ACND Prep qualified seven students out of eleven to participate in the race for the national title.
ACND made a large presence in the Dramatic Performance category. All three competitors, Mylrick Lapointe, Max Gaston, and Jennifer Macourek, qualified. The trio of Holy Family graduates will be a force to be reckoned with at the Grand National Tournament.
Included in the seven qualifiers is Erdina Francillon, a graduate of St. Mary Cathedral and the State Champion for Original Oratory.
Senior Beatrice Jourdain, a St. James graduate, qualified for Declamation. Daniel Seigel, a Holy Cross Christian graduate, will compete for the Student Congress national title. Kristen McNair, an octa-finalist in last year’s Grand Tournament, will be returning in the Original Interpretation category.
The Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament will be held on May 28th and 29th in Milwaukee.
The ACND Speech and Debate Team will also compete to qualify in the National Forensic League Grand Tournament on April 2nd
