ACND Girls Softball District Semi-Finalist

softball team finished the season as district semi-finalist.

Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School’s girls’ softball team completed the
season as district semi-finalist with a record of 5-11 under the direction of head
coach, Beth Love and assistant coaches: Douglas Romanik and John Zavertnik.
The girls were led by senior pitcher Katie Cabrisas, who pitched every game of the
season. Katie also stole 27 bases, scored 18 runs and batted in 6 runs. Adding to her
list of accomplishments, Katie was named Tropical Financial and WQAM’s Scholar
Athlete in September.
Other notable players included senior short stop Allyson Porges who averaged .312
with 15 runs scored and 14 runs batted in. Senior left fielder Jillian Husted had a .446
batting average, 17 runs batted in, and scored 9 runs. Jillian was named Miami Herald
Athlete of the week for a game winning home run in the bottom of the 7th against Miami
Christian.
Archbishop Curley Notre Dame is a college preparatory high school of the Archdiocese
of Miami, conducted by the Congregation of Christian Brothers. Along with a strong
academic curriculum, the school offers a wide variety of athletic and extracurricular
