Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School Summer Academy

 

From June 9th through July 3rd, Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School will be

hosting the sixteenth year of the June Academy summer program.  The June Academy

 welcomes campers in the 6th through 9th grade.  Camp will be held from June 9th

through July 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Archbishop Curley Notre Dame

High School Campus (4949 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami). 

 

The June Academy provides junior high students a preview of a high school sports

program and engages students in a variety of enrichment courses in the areas of the

 performing arts and sciences.  Students will also have the opportunity to experience

 lessons in Tae Kwon Do and participate in chess competitions.

 

The camp offerings include: chess, Tae Kwon Do, athletics, band, performing arts,

visual arts and a Health Care Career program.

 

The June Academy is coordinated by distinguished members of the Archbishop Curley

High School faculty and involves a strong group of ACND coaches, including Coach Greg

Magner, ACND’s Athletic Director, and teachers assisted by a well prepared team of

student counselors.  The camp will be directed by Mr. Peter Laviniere, former vice principal

of ACND and principal of Doctors Charter School in Miami Shores.

 

ACND was founded in 1953 as Notre Dame Academy and Archbishop Curley High School

 and merged in 1981.  ACND is fully accredited high school by the Southern Association of

 Colleges and Schools and prides itself on offering a solid, yet innovative college preparatory

curriculum in the Arts and Sciences in the tradition of Edmund Rice Christian Brother’s Education.
