Dear Friends of ACND,
The 2013-2014 school year has begun and following our Honoring Traditions and Embracing the Future theme, the fall magazine is out. As part of our "going green" initiative and in keeping with the electronic age, ACND Prep's first online magazine is out and posted on our website. Please visit www.acnd.net to reconnect with classmates and keep abreast of school happenings. You may also wish to register on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin for updates.
As many of you are already aware, Archbishop Curley Notre Dame is "Embracing the Future" vaulting itself into the new technological age. We are introducing a campus with a wireless environment and putting new iPad2 notebooks into each student and teachers hands. ACND is also planning to install an Apple computer lab to complement the iPad use in school, installation of 55'' televisions are also envisioned for each class room to do away with projectors, allowing for teachers and students to project from their iPads to the screen. Along with the technological upgrades we are implementing new teaching methods that will assist in student engagement and mastery of material.
These upgrades have been made possible by the planning of Brother Moffett and the foreward thinking of Archbishop Wenski and Dr. Kim Pryzbylski, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. Some of these initiatives have already been implemented; others are still on the horizon. To complete all of these necessary upgrades funding is necessary. Below are the ways you can help with technology.
Turn to landscape mode to view the Sponsor cost
| Sponsor a room (includes upgrades to wiring and projection) | $5000.00 |
| Sponsor the purchase of 10 iPad2s | $5000.00 |
Most importantly, tuition does not cover all of our operating costs and as the economy continues to lag many of our families are having difficulty keeping up on tuition. As many of us experienced the kindness of others in order to make our ACND experience happen, we look towards our generous alumni and supporters to assist in our mission to educate and prepare each person to be a responsible, involved, and compassionate citizen in a global society.
During these difficult times you are asked to support many causes, I urge you to remember our students at ACND. It is not the size of the gift that matters it is the number of people who give.
With grateful appreciation,
Douglas Romanik '84
Principal

Planned Giving
Planned gifts can benefit ACND while helping you to save taxes, increase your income, and pass more on to your heirs.
Integrating charitable giving with financial and estate planning makes sense. Gifts to charity can dramatically reduce estate or income taxes.
Many planned giving options are available to accomplish tax and philanthropic goals. Some take effect during your lifetime; others become effective upon one's death. Some can be structured to provide life income for donors or their loved ones.
Benefits
- Avoid capital gains tax on appreciated value
- Reduce estate taxes
- Charitable intent will be carried out
- Assets preserved in perpetuity
- Create a permanent legacy
Other Ways to Give Wisely
- You don't have to use cash to make a gift to Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School.
- You can give appreciated securities instead, using an asset that cost you less than the tax deduction you'll get for it today.
- You can make a substantial gift to us through a transfer of residential, commercial, or undeveloped real estate.
- You can give us an interest in a closely-held or family business.
- You can give us personal property such as books, artwork, or equipment, and secure a charitable income tax deduction.
