The Summer Academy

Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School Summer Academy

From June 15th through July 17th, Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School will be hosting the 17th year of the Summer Academy summer program.  The Summer Academy welcomes campers in the 5th through 9th grade.  Camp will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School Campus (4949 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami).

The Summer Academy provides junior high students a preview of a high school sports program and engages students in a variety of enrichment courses in the areas of the performing arts and sciences.  Students will also have the opportunity to experience lessons in Tae Kwon Do and participate in chess competitions.

The morning offerings include a range of athletics: flag football, basketball, speed training and video analysis.  Afternoon offerings include: art, band, performing arts, chess, sciences and much more.

The Summer Academy is coordinated by distinguished members of the Archbishop Curley High School faculty and involves a strong group of ACND coaches and teachers including Peter Laviniere, ACND's Vice Principal of Advancement, and Gregory Magner, ACND's Athletic Director, assisted by a well-trained group of student counselors.

ACND was founded in 1953 as Notre Dame Academy and Archbishop Curley High School and merged in 1981.  ACND is fully accredited high school by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and prides itself on offering a solid, yet innovative college preparatory curriculum in the Arts and Sciences in the tradition of Edmund Rice Christian Brother’s Education.
